TokenizationRoadmap · phase 5

Every container, a verifiable digital asset.

Ragtrail already turns each container into a verified, fingerprinted trade record. The next step is to let that record be financed and transferred as a token, so suppliers get paid sooner and buyers can fund stock in transit. This page explains how, and what exists today. Exploratory

The lifecycle of a container token

§ 01Why tokenize a container

Trade finance for a trade that rarely gets any.

Secondhand clothing is a cash-in-advance business. Suppliers want paying before the box sails, buyers pay deposits weeks before they can sell a kilo, and banks rarely lend against a container of used textiles from a counterparty they can't verify. A verified, fingerprinted, transferable record changes what a lender is looking at.

Suppliers

Paid sooner

A financier can pay against the token at loading, instead of waiting for the buyer's balance.

Sorters

Stock financed in transit

Smaller deposits, and working capital that isn't locked up for the five or six weeks a box is at sea.

Financiers

A real, verified asset

Short-tenor, goods-backed exposure with KYB on both sides, inspection evidence and a tamper-evident document trail.

§ 02What exists today

The groundwork is live in the Ragtrail Portal.

  • Every container has a verified trade record linking both KYB-checked parties.
  • Every document uploaded is fingerprinted with SHA-256 when it arrives.
  • Each trade has a record fingerprint that changes if any detail or document changes.
  • The full record can be exported as machine-readable JSON, ready for a ledger or a lender.

§ 03What does not exist yet

We are clear about the line.

  • No tokens have been issued.
  • No investment, deposit or financing product is offered on this website.
  • No ledger or blockchain has been selected.
  • Any future product will run only through appropriately licensed partners, in each jurisdiction involved.
§ 04Legal foundations

Built on frameworks that are already arriving.

Electronic trade documents
The UK Electronic Trade Documents Act 2023 recognises electronic bills of lading and similar documents, based on the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records (MLETR).
Pakistan
Pakistan has introduced a virtual-assets framework with a dedicated regulator (PVARA). Any token would need to sit inside it.
United Kingdom
Cryptoasset activity and financial promotions are regulated by the FCA. This page is information only and is not a financial promotion.
Other origin markets
US, Canadian and Australian rules would apply to suppliers and financiers there.
